5 WAYS TO MAKE YOUR BEDROOM SEXIER

Candle and essential oils for the bedroom

You know you have spent so much time in your bedroom (especially in your bed) all these months in confinement. You had probably used it as a sofa to read, an office to work, and of course as a dining table to eat. It's time to change the mood and bring the sexy back! With not that much investment there are little things you can do to make your bedroom sexier.

1 - INVEST IN GOOD SHEETS

This is the one thing you cannot go cheap on (and the mattress of course!) to make your bedroom sexier. It makes all the difference. Start putting soft sheets on the bed and a soft comforter. Get sheets that are made of breathable materials, like cotton or linen, rather than heavy polyester or cheap satin. It’s more important to have one set of good sheets than six sets of bad ones. Surround yourself with things that feel good on your skin and your body.

2 - UPGRADE YOUR PILLOWS

Another key component to make your bedroom look and feel sexier is the throw pillows. They are a fast and inexpensive way to redo your whole bedroom. Throw pillows in warm colors, like tan, browns, and deep golden hues not only will add dimension and texture to your bed, but also will add sensuality and softness to any style bedroom. They don't have to cost a lot and they can change the whole color scheme of the room.

3 - PAINT AN ACCENT WALL

An accent wall in a bedroom brings color and depth into the space and also gives your room a focal point. Find a color that works for your bedroom and paint at least one wall with fresh paint in a warm color. Use water or latex-based paint with an eggshell, satin, or semigloss finish. There are two ways to use color if you want to create an accent wall. You can choose a saturated color that contrasts the rest of the room, or you can use a deeper shade or two of your wall color.. Freshening the room with paint can feel like a brand-new start.

4 - PUT AWAY YOUR WORK STUFF AND LOOSE WIRES

Now almost everybody is working from home and are short on space. Please do your best to keep all non- related activities out of your bedroom. It will help a lot making your bedroom sexier. Make sure the space is a retreat from all things you do during your day. Try to keep your desk out of your bedroom if space allows. Clear out any paper clutter like magazines and paperwork in the bedroom and near your bed. If you work on a laptop, try to keep it separate and maybe place a mini desk in the corner of the living room. Other things that take away from the clear energy of the room are the loose cords. Cords left out are clutter and tangles of cords can accumulate dust and pet hair. Try discreetly to hide power strips and lengthy cords so you can have a sleeker bedside area.

5 - LIGHTING IS SO IMPORTANT

You know how romantic restaurants always have low lighting? It’s because we relax in lower light and also every one looks better, too!. So, if you want to make your bedroom sexier try to find soft lighting for the room, with several levels of light, if possible. If you can turn down the lights with a dimmer or lowering device, and if you can’t, rewire the lighting, or use a low-wattage bulb in a nice lamp. This should also help to set the mood.

Ok, so take action now. You can start decluttering your bedroom and stop using your bed as a workstation.  If you think your bedroom needs a little work let me help you with your space. Check out my design services and let’s do this together.
