Make Your Room Look Bigger

So you are sadly looking around the Internet for a way to make your small space look so much more than it is. 

We are all trying to live within our means and we have tried to scale down appropriately, but you can't figure out how to make your space look nice and big.

Here are my top tips for making your space look larger: 

• SHOW A LITTLE LEG

You know there are some couches where you can't see the legs? Find yourself a sofa or a chair, whatever you are in the market for, and go for the ones that don't have those "cute" little skirts.

• SEE-THRU TOPS

Glass top coffee and side tables are gonna help you out. Also, you can order some glass shelves for the bookcases. Lucite furniture and accessories are a great option too. They take up less visual space and give the illusion of more open air in a room. Your space will look more airy and light.

• LIGHTEN UP

Pick light colors!. (Even if your favorite is a dark one). From the paint color to the fabrics, light colors reflect light, opposite to the dark ones that absorb it. The best color for a small room or space are any shades of light neutrals or white.

• THINK NEUTRAL

When it comes to fabric, try to skip the patterns. They are intrusive in a small space. Any element that will draw the eye all over the space, will make it look busy and cramped.  If you don't like to go solid, opt for simple designs, keeping the visual weight light.
